The Hastings Half Marathon is one of the most love

The Hastings Half Marathon is one of the most loved in the UK. So much so it welcomes in the region of 5,000 participants every year - all of whom have different reasons and ambitions for doing so. Whether it’s setting a new PB, running for fun, raising money for charity, running in memory of a loved one, or going for a world record attempt, the Hastings Half is known to put on a great show. The crowds come out in force, creating an atmosphere like no other, celebrating every runner, through every mile.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and as our local man, Dan, an avid participant and running again this year, we wanted to create a series of self initiated illustrations that honour the different types of runners who make the Hastings Half what it is today.

Next up we introduce ‘The Mini Runner’. The next generation of goal getters. These little bundles of energy are the life and soul of the Hastings Half party. Some run for fun, whilst others run to smash their targets. But, whatever their purpose, The Mini Runners make us proud beyond words, as we watch their smiling faces cross the finish line.

Next up we introduce ‘The Record Breaker’. The ones who break the mould, and push the boundaries of every day life. It’s not often you get to experience a world record attempt! But 2024 is the year, and Nick Attwood will be doing just that, by attempting to be the fastest person ever to complete the half marathon... in chainmail. Go get it Nick!

From rhino’s and superhero’s, to Big Birds and tutu’s, you’ll be sure to spot a variety of fancy dressers at every Hastings Half. These runners push the boundaries of creativity, generating smiles and giggles from start to finish.
